Having been involved in OERu from the outset, I accepted an invitation to become a member of the Board of Directors of the Open Education Resource Foundation in 2011.

I was awarded the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) inaugural individual prize for excellence in 1999, and was President of ICDE from 2002 – 2005.

As Emeritus Professor, I am continuing my involvement with the University of Southern Queensland, where I was previously CIO and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Learning Services).

My current interests include the technology-pedagogy interface, the need for organizational development in higher education, and associated issues of scalability, cost-effectiveness and innovation.
